ABOUT SANDRA

Sandra graduated with her Master Degree in School Psychology and is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the British Columbia Assoication of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC; Member #21198). She specializes in working with children, teens, families, and adults to help them discover their strengths and stretches, and to uncover the process of healing.

 

Sandra’s goals are to listen, support, and establish a safe environment so that client’s feel valued, encouraged, and seek solutions to help them navigate through their challenges.

 

As an Elementary School Teacher for over 17 years, Sandra has gained extensive experience supporting students with high emotional and academic needs, anxiety, ADHD, Autism, and severe behaviour challenges. Sandra has taught Grades 1-7 and has also been part of the Learner Support Team and taught Social Development. Sandra also has experience working with Individuals, Families, and Couples. 

 

Sandra uses several approaches in her therapeutic work including  Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), EMDR, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Person Centred Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Strength Based Therapy, Attachment Theory, Play Therapy, Sand-tray Therapy, and Art Therapy. Meeting the client where they are, Sandra can successfully implement therapies that work for her in clients in a positive way.
