CHILD SPECIALIST
Children internalize and externalize their experiences with relationships and life events differently than adults, requiring child specialists to use a more tailored and unique approach. Through the use of art and play therapy, children can learn to express their thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a developmentally appropriate manner. Through a gentle, non-intrusive, and forward-oriented process, children can learn to increase their emotional awareness and social responsiveness.
While the challenges children and youth experience can vary, it is important to note that children and youth see the world from another perspective and face many challenges for the first time. In this process, children often develop difficulty in learning to cope with the ongoing challenges that may occur. Therefore, child specialists focus exclusively on the children, meeting with them, and allowing them to share their stories.
